According to Phoenix Satellite TV, citing Japanese media reports, an investigation committee composed of external experts released an investigation report on September 14th on the data falsification problem at Japan‘s Chubu Electric Power Company‘s Hamaga nuclear power plant. The report, which consists of more than 250 pages, identified at least 208 of the 225 evaluations suspected of problems, including “false explanations” and “hiding” and other improper behaviors.

The report points out that one of the causes of data forgery and other behavior is that some employees and management at Central Power are under pressure to realize the need to restart the nuclear power plant as soon as possible, resulting in statements justifying their own improper behavior, and this situation has already formed consensus within a certain group or organization within the company.

On the afternoon of the 14th, Japan Central Power announced that its president, Shingo Hayashi, and its chairman, Tetsuo Katsuno, will resign on the 30th, and its director, Minoru Yasui, will take over as president. Central Power also plans to withdraw its review application for restarting units 3 and 4 of the Hamaga nuclear power plant.
