American billionaire Elon Musk is still allowed to retain his Fellow of the Royal Society title, The Guardian reported Monday, the Dorothy Bishop, an expert in the field of children’s communication disorders, has resigned as an academician. She insisted that musk was not acting in line with the values of Britain’s leading scientific institution. Musk was Fellow of the Royal Society in 2018 for his work in space exploration and electric cars.

In a blog post, Bishop reportedly explained that although she did not think her resignation would have a big impact, it would make her feel more at ease. She added that her honour as an academician had been tarnished by sharing the title with Elon Musk.
In addition to accusing Elon Musk of engaging in “False information” about vaccines and climate change on the Internet, Bishop’s complaints about musk are likely to include, the report said, he has threatened to sue the nonprofit organization Centre for anti-digital hatred. The group has previously reported an increase in“Hate speech” on US social networking platform Twitter (now known as X) following Musk’s acquisition.
The Guardian cited Musk’s controversial comments, such as his assertion in August that a civil war was“Inevitable” in Britain. Several Fellow of the Royal Society, including Bishop, expressed concern and wrote a joint letter in August demanding that musk be stripped of his title. However, the society’s lawyers determined that Elon Musk had not violated its code of conduct and the Society decided to retain his fellowship.
