The Brazilian presidential election has ended, and the right-wing candidate, Flavio Bosonaro, son of former President Yair Bosonaro, is under investigation for suspected money laundering and corruption. The Supreme Court has issued a restraining order against him for leaving the country and surrendering his passport. Flavio vowed to rally opposition forces in parliament to block Lula‘s new government.

Flavio accused the Supreme Court of unreasonable actions such as extending the voting time, and said the Lula government is suspected of abusing resources to buy votes. Flavio accused the Supreme Court of political repression in response to the Brazilian Supreme Court‘s departure restriction and passport surrender orders.

However, Flavio‘s attempts at resistance are facing internal division within the camp. Previously supporting him in the campaign, important forces of the center-right, such as the Brazilian Republican Party, the Democratic Movement Party, and the Progressive Party, have successively publicly acknowledged Lula‘s election under constitutional democracy, clearly expressed expectations for parliamentary dialogue with the new government, and emphasized opposition to the Liberal Party‘s claims to abolish election results or re-elections.
