According to Bloomberg, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, attended a panel discussion on Monday and received a call from U.S. President Trump, giving him the opportunity to dismiss the AI danger theory as a “fraud”.

Huang received the call from the podium of the All-In Summit held in Los Angeles. During the call, Trump criticized calls to slow down the pace of AI development, saying this practice was motivated by political motives. Huang agreed with this, and said Trump saw through the complexity behind this issue.

Trump said the boycott of AI development “is exactly in the heart of many people who don‘t want this to happen.” These people may be politicians.

Even after minimizing AI risks, Huang praised an Anthropic researcher who resigned due to concerns about AI risks. Huang said that the employee, Jacob Coxon, had the courage to express his concerns. He also said that the company should take whistleblowers seriously internally.

However, Huang also points out that this panic creates a false two-or-one situation, as if there is only one choice between rapid innovation and AI security.

Lately, AI‘s potential dangers to humanity have become a hot topic of discussion. After Coxon resigned and said that Anthropic and OpenAI were “getting our lives on the line,” calls for slowing development have grown. Last Saturday, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a 3,800-word article proposing to slow AI development, which was subsequently supported by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

U.S. technology stocks fell sharply on Monday as markets worried that related spending might slow down. The stock price of Nvidia, the world‘s most valuable company, fell 3.4%. Nvidia‘s chips used to run AI models are one of the biggest beneficiaries of the boom in building large-scale AI infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Trump has become a strong supporter of data center construction, even as it faces growing opposition. Trump criticized some US states for refusing to grant permits for new data center construction. He said such facilities could make people and states richer.

He said: “This is oil for the next 20 to 25 years. It‘s more important than the internet.”
