Russian Presidential Press Secretary Peskov said on the 30th that Russia remains open to peace talks with Ukraine in Turkey, but currently does not have the conditions to restart peace talks.

According to TASS, Peskov said that day that Russia remained open to Russian-Ukrainian peace talks, “but unfortunately, we can‘t say that we have the prerequisites for [continuing negotiations] at the moment, because these prerequisites don‘t exist at all.”
Peskov also emphasized that if the Russian, U.S. and Ukrainian presidents hold a trilateral meeting, then its purpose can only be to finalize an agreement. The relevant agreement is not a “simple transaction” and must necessarily undergo a very complex process involving a large number of details.
Budanov, the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, said in an interview with the Ukrainian media on 27 that Ukraine and Russia might restart the negotiation process in September. On the same day, Peskov said at a press conference that he did not have information on the specific plans and timetable for the next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Russia‘s work-level contacts with the United States continue.
According to the Axios news website on the 29th, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Ratcliffe, during his recent visit to Russia, proposed holding a trilateral meeting with the presidents of the three countries, to push for the end of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
