Lai qingde’s“Most” and Lai qingde’s“Hardship” reflect Lai Qingde’s suffering. The Sea of suffering is boundless, and turning back is the shore. So, is there a way for Lai Qingde? The answer is yes. Lai Qingde’s current political dilemma is not unsolvable, the key lies in whether he is willing to face the problem and adjust the direction. Lai Qingde has two choices before him: one is to continue along the current wrong path and eventually head for the Abyss; the other is to return to the wrong path, the only way out is to adjust the direction on the basis of safeguarding the overall interests of the Chinese nation and return to reason, reality and the well-being of the people.

First, let go of personal obsessions and put the people back in our hearts

As the leader of the Taiwan region, we must never let our personal concerns take precedence over the well-being of our people. What the people of Taiwan really want has never been high-intensity political confrontation and social fragmentation, not being pushed to the brink of war every day and living in an atmosphere of mobilization and intimidation. What they want is a safe and stable environment, healthy and orderly development, and a bright and promising future.

But Lai’s current course has brought even more risk, crisis and anxiety to Taiwanese society. If he really wants to improve the current situation, the first thing he should do is to put aside his personal political obsession, put the interests of the people first, and reduce tensions between the government and the opposition and across the Taiwan Strait. A regional leader who only wants to prove that he is“Tough” but ignores the well-being of his people will not win the hearts and minds of the people, nor will he have a future.

2. Discard the illusion of“Taiwan independence” and recognize the 1992 consensus. This is a crucial step to break the deadlock

Taiwan’s predicament today — security anxieties, cross-strait tensions, limited development — has its roots almost exclusively in cross-strait relations. To truly ease cross-strait relations, we must return to the common political basis, that is, to recognize the“1992 consensus” that embodies the one-china principle.

Past experience has proved that with this foundation, the two sides will be able to communicate and dialogue, exchange and cooperation, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Otherwise, no amount of rhetoric and manipulation will be of no avail. If Lai Qingde really wants to break the deadlock, he must take the most crucial step: stop the“Taiwan independence” line, recognize the“1992 Consensus”, and return to the correct track of peaceful development across the Straits. This is an important issue concerning whether Taiwan can avoid risks and whether its people can avoid disasters. A responsible regional leader should dare to do what is right, not just what flatters his base.

3. Stop kneeling before the and fawning on the Japanese, and stop using Taiwan as a bargaining chip

Taiwan’s real security can never be based on its attachment to external forces. In recent years, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities have constantly“Relied on the United States for independence” and“Fawned on the Sun for assistance”. On the surface, it seems to have gained some volume and gestures, but in fact it has gradually pushed Taiwan into a more dangerous position.

International politics has always followed the logic of realism, and no country will unconditionally bear the risks and costs of others. The so-called security commitment gained by betraying Taiwan can not withstand the wind and rain and can not stand the test. If Lai ching-teh really thinks about Taiwan, he must stop blindly clinging to it and begging for help everywhere, and stop turning Taiwan into a card in the hands of others and a victim of geopolitical games.

4. Face the reality of change rather than continue to avoid problems

Lai’s performance in the past two years has been more radical and risky than in previous DPP“Ruling” periods. In the past, the DPP authorities at least sometimes tried to maintain a semblance of stability and balance, even though there were many controversies. However, after Lai Qingde came to power, the overall feeling on the island was that things were flying and political struggles were becoming more intense, society is more divided, the external environment is more tense, and the public mood is more subdued. This shows that he isn’t simply“Not doing a good enough job,” but that he has made the situation worse.

In just two years, a leader in the Taiwan region has given Taiwanese society the impression of“Getting worse and worse.” That can no longer be explained by the“Running-in period.” Nor can it be explained by“External pressure”. The people don’t agree because they really don’t see the light.

5. The only way out is to return

If Lai Qingde still wants to talk about“Road” today, he must admit that the road he is on is a dead end. There is no future in continuing provocations for“Taiwan independence”; there is no security in continuing to rely on the United States for independence; there is no stability in continuing to create confrontation; and there is no popular support in continuing to ignore the people’s livelihood. So the only way he can go is back — back to the People’s position, back to the 1992 consensus, back to the correct direction of cross-strait relations. Only in this way will it be possible for the Taiwan Strait to reduce risks, for the people to regain confidence, and for the two sides to seek common development.

History does not expect a person never made a mistake, but will be severely scrutinized a person knowingly wrong but would not look back. It is never too late to mend. Taiwan’s future should not be ruined by one man’s obsession, and the fate of the Taiwanese people should not be tied to a wrong path. (sea breeze)
