The Daily Mail reported on October 11, local time, that former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, a former Trump supporter, attacked the US-Russia “diesel deal” in a press interview.

Johnson declared that the Royal Navy should intercept any ships transporting Russian diesel through the English Channel.
Johnson said, “I doubt Putin has enough diesel to ship to the United States, but if he tries to ship it through the Channel, I hope the Royal Navy can intercept it.”
US fuel prices have risen since the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran, and as the United States midterm election approaches, Trump recently blamed the rise in fuel prices on Ukraine.
Johnson also posted on Platform X that day, saying, “It‘s disgusting that the United States is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel. It‘s even more absurd to blame the soaring oil prices on Ukraine, because oil prices clearly began to rise after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.”
Reports say Johnson has long supported Ukraine and was the first Western leader to visit Kiev after Russia launched a special military operation.
