Twelve U.S. government officials who previously resigned one after another due to dissatisfaction with the United States’ support for Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip issued a joint statement for the first time today, accusing President Biden’s administration of “undeniably” killing “Accomplices” of the Palestinians in Gaza.

Reuters reported that the 12 former government officials said in a joint statement that the Biden administration supported Israel and found loopholes to continue shipping weapons to Israel, violating U.S. law.

Neither the White House nor the State Department immediately commented on the statement.

The resignation of these 12 US officials reflects some dissent within the government over US support for Israel. Washington has been pushing to protect civilians in the Gaza Strip and called on Israel to expand aid.

Signatories of the joint statement include former members of the State Department, Education Department, Interior Department, White House and military.

“The United States’ diplomatic cover and continued supply of weapons to Israel make our country an undeniable accomplice in the killing and forced starvation of Palestinians trapped in Gaza,” they said in a statement.

They urged the US government to use its “necessary and available influence” to end the war and secure the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza and Palestinian prisoners in Israel. They also asked the U.S. government to support self-determination for the Palestinian people and provide funding for “immediate expansion of humanitarian assistance” in Gaza.
