The devastating“Heat dome” phenomenon is currently sweeping much of Canada, triggering continued extreme heat, leaving millions of people under heat alert. Meanwhile, parts of the country are experiencing heavy rains and severe flooding.
Most of Ontario is hot and humid, making it one of the provinces worst hit by the Heat Wave, Canada reported Wednesday. In the southwest of the province, temperatures continue to rise during the day and can not be effectively cooled at night. The east is also suffering from a prolonged heat wave.

Canada’s Department of Environment and Climate Change has issued a heat alert for Ontario, Quebec and other provinces, urging residents to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat periods. The highest daytime temperature and humidity indices in these areas are already well above the average for the same period in previous years.
Due to the combination of extremely hot weather and unstable weather systems, parts of Canada are also facing severe thunderstorms and secondary disasters caused by them.
Parkland, Manitoba, central Canada, was hit by heavy rains earlier this week, causing severe flooding. A state of emergency was declared in the Western Province of Dauphin Monday.
