Two firefighters have been killed in a fire at a refrigerated warehouse in South Korea

According to South Korea’s“Joongang Ilbo”, quoting South Korean fire department news on the 12th, a fire broke out at around 8:25 am on the same day in a frozen warehouse of a seafood processing enterprise in Kwondo County, Jeollanam Province, two firefighters who were involved in fighting the fire were killed.

According to reports, two firefighters at about 9:02 in the building when the fire fighting operations, because of the sudden rapid spread of fire, resulting in two trapped and lost contact. The fire department launched an emergency search and rescue operation and later confirmed that the two men had died.

Reported that South Korean president Lee Jae-myung and South Korean Prime Minister Kim min-seok for the fire spoke out, requested the mobilization of all available personnel and equipment to rescue the missing and put out the fire. Lee also said all available resources should be mobilized for emergency response and personnel rescue.

The fire was extinguished at about 11:26 a. m. On the same day as smoke billowed from the scene and the fire was raging, making it difficult to put out the blaze and rescue efforts, the report said. The fire department said it would investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire and the cause of the blaze.
