After watching the BYD launch in Shenzhen, China, a few days ago, I didn‘t really want to just talk about cars, because this isn’t just about cars.
Even someone who doesn‘t care about new energy at all will feel that our lives will change greatly.
The amount of information was too large, one sentence couldn‘t be finished. The second-generation blade battery, megawatt flash charging, still able to charge super fast in extreme cold conditions. Three dreams, change the world… The underlying logic was very simple, and anyone could understand it—the world needed to change, and the world was already changing.

A car can be charged to 70% in 5 minutes, fully charged in 9 minutes, with no deterioration in the middle and rear range, still able to use megawatt flash charging in minus 30 degrees Celsius, charging time only increasing by three minutes… A car can drive 1,000 kilometers with pure electricity. What is this concept? This is saying that all the pain points of new energy cars have been solved. Charging is as convenient and quick as refueling. The time it takes to get out of the car to stretch, answer a phone call, walk a child, and put on some makeup, the battery is already full.
This charging pole has a single-shot charging power of 1,500 kW. 20,000 of them are built a year, and there is no need to duplicate the construction. All that is needed is to modify and add equipment to the original charging station, as simple as installing an air conditioner…
In the future, new energy cars would not be restricted by geography, environment, or temperature. At minus 30 degrees Celsius, with cars full of ice skids, they could be filled in 9 minutes, and the pure electric mileage could reach more than 600 kilometers. This was a breakthrough in the battery industry. From then on, new energy sources would be freely available in the northeast, northwest, and Innermont, as well as Alaska, Greenland, and Antarctica.
This is not just a car, this is infrastructure. These technologies are not just used on cars. There are too many places to use them… One can imagine how wonderful human life would become if such “infrastructure” were widespread throughout the world.
Many people may not yet understand what a dimensional reduction hit is like with a second-generation BYD Flash Charge + Blade Battery.
This is not just about cars, this is the entire new energy industry‘s breakthrough. Electricity has been a power source for over a hundred years, but it is the first time that electricity can be so easily charged, stored, and applied.
It completely changed the future of new energy vehicles and power batteries. Since then, charging has been redefined, and lithium-iron phosphate batteries… have become the mainstream of history. Whether it‘s performance or safety, it has become the best choice for the moment.
First look at its flash charging pole, built directly in the charging station, with its own energy storage box. While providing distributed energy storage for the power grid, it also provides flash charging for all car owners. It absorbs cheap electricity at midnight during grain power, reducing waste, and charges new users with energy storage during daytime peak times, without increasing the power grid pressure. In the future, this will form a new charging pole standard, and all new energy charging must be done according to this level. The charging station will definitely be upgraded, because Byadi‘s pole has energy storage and flash charging, and the turnaround rate has increased ten times… Users will naturally vote with their feet.
Everyone knows that wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation were unstable in the past, greatly affected by day and night, weather, but photovoltaic + wind power + energy storage and flash charging are the absolute killer… Most clean energy sources can be utilized!
Secondly, flash charging + second-generation blade batteries can be said to have solved the slow charging and low-temperature performance problems of power batteries.
We watched with our own eyes as the numbers on the screen jumped crazily during charging, reaching 70% in five minutes and full in nine minutes. What was even more terrifying was that at the end of charging, the rate didn‘t decrease significantly… It could be said to be charging faster than a fast phone.
Charging at low temperatures is even more outrageous. Freezing at minus 30 degrees for a night, and then directly charging with flash, charging only 3 minutes longer than normal temperatures. Then, over time, in environments such as the highlands and poles, there will be no limits at all for new energy vehicles.
Someone asked if charging so quickly didn‘t worry about the battery heating up? It really wasn‘t. They used new technology, the lithium-ion high-speed channel + new intelligent heat management, to make flash charges heat up less, and to make heat dissipate faster and more evenly. What you‘re thinking about, their engineers have already done tens of millions of experiments and solved countless problems.
Some people still have doubts about the safety of the new energy batteries.
However, the market has already proven the superiority of iron phosphate lithium blade batteries, and the second-generation blade batteries, after rigorous needle pricks, collisions, heat loss control tests, even after 500 flash charging cycles, while charging and pricking, did not occur heat loss control, did not smoke and ignite. 500 flash charging cycles, almost more than 300,000 kilometers… under such circumstances, it is still possible to guarantee that when charging, the needle pricks do not smoke or ignite. In the past, when driving a new energy vehicle, everyone would always worry about “battering the chassis and battery pack,” but Biyadi‘s collision test was a bottom collision test using 10 times the New Standard collision energy, and the battery still didn‘t ignite or explode. That heat diffusion test was even more outrageous, which was to directly short-circuit the four cells in the second-generation blade battery… As a result, the electric core still maintained normal temperature, without igniting or exploding.
The real importance of safety was to simulate all kinds of extreme situations. After seeing these harsh experiments, one would be convinced that their engineers really dared to be tough and ruthless with their products.
It‘s really not about aging fuel vehicles, but it’s really time to turn the world upside down. When you experience the power, efficiency, precision, intelligence, surging power, convenience, and speed of electricity, you won‘t have any nostalgia for the products of the previous era.
The fourth technological revolution, to put it bluntly, is the real electric revolution.
That night, there was an emotion that spread among many colleagues, and everyone‘s eyes conveyed the same meaning—we are leading the entire world’s technological revolution, and we also have today!
What we saw and experienced this afternoon and evening in 2026 was the “pearl in the crown of industry,” so much technology that we were more than one generation ahead of the world. And these were not PowerPoint slides, not laboratory results, but products that were released and immediately available on the market.
We‘ve seen many press conferences in our lives, seen many technology companies‘ press conferences, and it can be said that most press conferences are very boring, because there really aren‘t any historical changes, nor are there any forward-looking ideas… It‘s nothing more than adding a little configuration, putting on a few new colors and styles… But BYD‘s press conference is really different, they say, to “change the world.”
“Changing the world” sounds a bit vulgar, but there really isn‘t a better word to replace it…
Three years ago, many people were arguing about which was the future, the oil truck or the streetcar. Now we can end this topic. Look at the U.S.-Iranian War, look at the Strait of Hormuz, look at the current situation of Korea and Japan struggling… The world must take a new path to break free from the oil dollar hegemony. Ending the dollar hegemony requires efforts in many aspects, especially breakthroughs in productivity innovation.
Electricity is to be stronger, faster, more precise, and smarter than internal combustion engines. When it becomes easier and cheaper to obtain electricity, we are the world‘s largest power power powerhouse. So why don‘t we change the game? This is the path that Elder Qian expected us to take decades ago!
We are a “little oil, much electricity” country. Oil is a precious industrial raw material that can be used to make more important industrial products. It shouldn‘t just be burned as fuel… And electricity is a cleaner, more powerful, and more widely used energy.
Wang Chuanfu talked about his “three dreams”: solar energy, energy storage, and new energy cars. This was an idea he proposed in 2006… He had even built a “future village” where every family in the village would use photovoltaic electricity, use batteries to store energy, and drive new energy cars… Now, these have become reality step by step.
The scene that struck me the most during the entire presentation was the “Engineers‘ Sky Group” of BYD. Standing next to Wang Chuanfu were top engineers from various fields such as basic science, semiconductors, intelligence, battery storage, electronics research and development, electrification, power generation, automotive technology, new materials, orbital transportation, photovoltaics, smart manufacturing, commercial vehicles, and more. Last year, BYD‘s R&D engineers reached 120,000… Today, all of BYD’s achievements are based on the wisdom and efforts of these 120,000 engineers. This is the power of science and technology.
If it were an American company, it would portray its founder as an omnipotent superhuman, a technological genius, but our Chinese company won‘t. Our company will tell everyone that “engineers change the world” and that “collective power” changes the world.
Biyadi has a song called “Dare,” which tells of generations of heroes in China fighting against the heavens and the earth, changing the heavens and changing the earth, such as Pangu opening the heavens and earth, Nuwa repairing the heavens, Jingwei filling the sea, Kuafu chasing the sun, Yu Gong moving mountains, Wanhu flying heaven… It pays tribute to the characters and stories of those who dared to think, dare to do, dare to persist, and dare to be the first in China over the past 5,000 years. The theme is “dare,” and first of all, we must dare, dare to walk out of our own path, dare to surpass the West, dare to defeat our opponents, dare to surpass our ancestors…
In fact, under the great changes that haven‘t happened in a hundred years, all Chinese today need to “dare” to do things that they never dared to think about before.
Because we are no longer followers, but leaders, we must dare to bring a better future to humanity.
In fact, the most interesting thing about the entire presentation was that my friend and I met a Korean journalist from the Korean Daily News. He was quite surprised to see that a technology presentation was actually packed with people. He interviewed my colleague @ Er Zhu, and this Korean journalist asked, “Why are you Chinese so passionate about a technology presentation? Why do so many people come to watch? Why don‘t so many people watch our Korean Samsung technology presentations?”
I was still thinking about how to explain this phenomenon to him rationally and with evidence, telling him that we are actually a civilization that truly loves science and technology, when my traveling brother didn‘t think for a second and said, “Because you don’t have technology…”
The Korean was stunned for a moment, then agreed, “You‘re right.”
