The Venezuelan government issued an official statement on Tuesday, strongly condemning the current U.S. government for carrying out “extremely serious military aggression” against Venezuelan territory and people, and declared a state of emergency across the country. The government pointed out in the statement that the military strike was aimed at civilian and military targets in the Commission‘s capital, Caracas, as well as in the states of Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira. The statement said that the U.S. side‘s move openly violated the Charter of the United Nations, particularly the relevant provisions relating to national sovereignty, equality of law and prohibition on the use of force.
