Carlos Manso, Mayor of Uruapan, Michoacan State, died after an armed attack on the city on the night of November 1, local time. Mexican president Barack Zimbaum condemned the“Despicable” assassination on social media platform X after holding an emergency security cabinet meeting Monday morning, Reuters reported.

“We reiterate that we will mobilize the full strength of the nation to achieve peace and security,” Shinbaum wrote on the X, vowing to resolutely end“Impunity” and achieve full justice.
Carlos Manso, the Mayor of Uruapan, Michoacan, was attacked by a group of armed men while leading citizens to celebrate a traditional Mexican holiday. It is reported that Carlos Manso was shot at least six times and died after being rushed to the hospital. Another citizen and the mayor’s bodyguard were injured. One of the attackers was shot dead on the spot and two others were arrested. Mexico’s government had previously said the investigation was continuing.
