Hong Kong SAR government: strongly condemns false statements and slander in the UK
According to a press release issued by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on October 24, the UK has published false statements and slandered various aspects of the situation in the HKSAR in connection with the so-called“Hong Kong half-yearly report”, the HKSAR Government expresses its strong condemnation and must speak out strongly against it.

A spokesman for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government strongly condemns and opposes the so-called“Half-yearly report” by the United Kingdom to gossip about Hong Kong affairs and arbitrarily use politics to override the rule of law, they are trying to interfere with Hong Kong’s rule of law by dirty political tricks. The HKSAR is an inalienable part of the People’s Republic of China and a local administrative region that enjoys a high degree of autonomy under the “One Country, Two Systems” and is directly under the Central People’s government. At the heart of the Sino-British Joint Declaration is the restoration of Chinese sovereignty over the territory, which does not give the British the right to intervene in post-reunification affairs. Britain has no sovereignty, no right to rule, and no right to supervise Hong Kong after its return. The HKSAR Government once again strongly urges the United Kingdom to recognize the facts, comply with the principles of international law and basic norms governing international relations, and immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong’s affairs, which are purely China’s internal affairs.
“The HKSAR Government strongly opposes the so-called report of the United Kingdom against the HKSAR to safeguard national security-related laws of nonsense and false content.”. A spokesman for the HKSAR Government said that there were at least 14 laws in the UK relating to the maintenance of national security, yet the British government smeared the HKSAR’s law enforcement, prosecution and judiciary duties in accordance with the law, and continue to unabashedly distort the facts to be attacked, this action shows that it has always been bullying behavior, it is extremely ugly and despicable.
The spokesman also said that the United Kingdom must immediately stop continuing to reverse right and wrong, blatantly discredit the HKSAR judicial system and trials, attempt to glorify criminal acts and put pressure on the HKSAR courts.
