
The public relations department of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution Islamic Republic Ground Forces issued a statement, Iranian radio and television said Monday, strongly condemns the assassination attacks carried out by terrorist groups in the south-eastern Iranian province of Sistan-baluchistan. The statement said the terrorist attacks were carried out with the support of Israel, several local Sunni elders and tribal leaders were killed.
Several tribal leaders have been killed in recent days, the report said. Gunmen opened fire on a vehicle carrying Mullah Kamal, a tribal elder, in the early hours of the morning in the city of Shahr, killing him instantly. The report stressed that Kyamal was trusted by the local people and supported the Iranian government, “Taking a clear and decisive stance towards Israel and its ‘puppets’”, in recent years he has played an important role in bridging the divide between Balochistan’s different tribes and their people, making him a “Thorn in the side” of terrorist groups dependent on foreign powers.
In its statement, the IRGC said that terrorist forces in the southeast of Iran are attempting to undermine national cohesion with such blind and cowardly acts, but such crimes are bound not to shake the firm will of the Iranian people, nor will it damage the strong bonds of solidarity between Shia and Sunni communities in Sistan and Baluchistan, where visionary citizens will continue to unite with great vigilance and determination, against a plot to foment division against the country. The statement also stressed that the perpetrators and masterminds of the attacks will pay for their despicable acts, Iran will resolutely respond to such acts.
