A serious fire broke out at a sheet metal factory in New Taipei City at about 4 am today (September 24) , and three people were suspected to be missing, according to local media such as China Time News Network and United News Network on September 24. Police and fire personnel received a report arrived at the scene, a large number of black smoke, “The burning situation is quite alarming.”. Firefighters sent a total of 42 vehicles and 105 people to the rescue, the fire was put out at about 6:58 am.

According to the report, the New Taipei City Fire Station received a report at 4:36 am today that a large amount of smoke was emitted from a sheet metal factory at a section of Lane 52 of Xizhen Street in New Taipei City’s wooded district, immediately send 42 vehicles and 105 people to the rescue. Fire personnel arrived at 4:41, the scene of 3 iron-sheet-metal building fire. As can be seen in the picture, the raging fire continues to rise, black smoke straight into the sky.
The fire was put out by fire fighters at 6:41 am. The fire was finally brought under control and put out at 6:58 am. The initial combustion area is estimated to be about 400 square meters (about 1322 square meters) . The fire department urged people in wooded areas and adjacent areas to stay indoors with doors and windows closed, and to wear face masks for outdoor activities.
According to people at the scene, a couple and their daughter, who usually live in the factory, are missing. Police and fire personnel will continue to clean up the fire site for confirmation, detailed cause of the incident to be investigated.
