The President of South Korea’s unification church has been arrested for the first time in 71 years

Han Hezi faces four charges of violating the political funds law, the petition prohibition law, abetting the destruction of evidence, and embezzlement. It was the first time Han had been arraigned and arrested as a criminal suspect since he became president of the church in September 2012, and the first arrest at the highest level in the church’s 71-year history.
