A 19-year-old woman was prosecuted by the State Security Department of the Hong Kong Police for making a propaganda film for a subversive organisation

 

On the morning of August 26, the national security department (NSA) of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) was found guilty of“One or more offences with seditious intent”, according to a report on the Hong Kong SAR government’s press release website on August 26, a 19-year-old woman was formally charged and will appear at West Kowloon Magistrates’ courts in the afternoon.

According to the press release, the woman was suspected of filming a propaganda video for a subversive group from March to May this year and calling for others to vote through social media platforms. The case will be mentioned at West Kowloon Magistrates’ courts in the afternoon of 26 May.

Hong Kong Police remind members of the public that“One or more acts with seditious intent” is a serious offence. first-time offenders are liable to imprisonment for seven years. Members of the public should not defy the law.
