EU foreign ministers held an emergency meeting on the 11th. In a post on social media after the meeting, Callas said EU foreign ministers had expressed support for us moves towards a “Just peace” over the Ukrainian crisis. “At the same time, the EU is committed to more sanctions against Russia, more military support for Ukraine and greater support for Ukraine’s budget needs and the EU accession process.”

“As long as the Russians do not agree to a comprehensive and unconditional cease-fire, we should not discuss any concessions,” Callas said. “We will establish a 19th round of sanctions against Russia.”

U. S. and Russian leaders are scheduled to meet in Alaska on the 15th to discuss the crisis in Ukraine. Callas said on the 10th that any agreement between the US and Russia to end the Russian-ukrainian conflict must take Ukraine and the EU into account.
