The inaugural meeting of the International Society for Deep Space Exploration was held in Hefei, Anhui province, Wednesday. This is our country’s first international scientific and technological organization in the field of deep space exploration.
The International Society for Deep Space Exploration is a joint initiative of the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory, the Centre for China National Space Administration exploration of the Moon and Space Engineering, the Chinese Society for Astronautics, the Chinese Society for Space Science and the French planetary exploration horizon 2061, the application, jointly initiated by 20 domestic academicians and 31 foreign scientists, was approved by the State Council in April after more than two years of preparation, to become a non-profit international scientific and technological organization with independent legal personality registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
“The establishment of the academy is of great importance to China’s international exchanges and cooperation in space, and marks a major symbol of collaborative innovation in the global space industry. It has far-reaching significance for pooling global efforts, promoting scientific and technological progress, deepening mutual learning among civilizations, and building a community of shared future for mankind in outer space,” said Wu Weiren, chief designer of the Chinese Lunar Exploration Project and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, we sincerely invite scientists and engineers from the global space industry and scientific and technological circles to actively join the society and make positive contributions to mankind’s exploration of the mysteries of space.
In the future, the society will focus on lunar exploration, interplanetary exploration, asteroid defense and other fields, study the international development trend of deep space exploration, and clarify the scientific direction and technical path of space exploration China will organize high-quality international academic activities and build platforms for cooperation and exchange to pool the wisdom of scientists from around the world, and promote the commercialization of achievements in deep space science and technology to serve economic and social development China organizes exhibitions and exhibitions for the popularization of science, international education and training, promotes the global training of professionals in Space Science and Technology, publishes and distributes international academic journals, launches major international projects and awards for outstanding scientists, stimulate global scientific discovery and technological innovation.
