The International Table Tennis Federation election scene quarreled, the executive committee election postponement

On May 27 local time, the 2025 ITTF congress was held in Doha, Qatar, to elect a new ITTF president and executive members. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced that Petra Solin was elected president of the ITTF, but there were questions from participants on the scene. At the time of the Roll Call of the voting association, there were 16 people on the line, but the final published number of online votes appeared to be 21, the election of the ITTF executive committee has therefore been postponed.

According to official website, Swede Solin was re-elected with 104 votes, and Qatari Ahmad Khalil al-muhana with 102. The live broadcast of the elections was interrupted by a number of complaints about the process and protests on the ground.

On-site participants questioned the number of online voting association when the online number of 16, but the final release of online votes appeared to 21 people. Candidate Khalil Al-mohannad opened the polls with enthusiasm, questioning why the online vote count was 16 at the start of the voting period, and why it turned out to be 21 when the results were shown? In response, ITTF said that the five additional associations were late for meetings and that there was no regulation that late would disqualify them.

According to the ITTF constitution, the ITTF will reconvene the ITTF Congress no later than November 2025 to elect a new ITTF executive board.
