A man has been killed in an early-morning shooting at a bar in Pingtung City, Taiwan, in clashes over a suspected debt dispute

Shots were fired at a bar in Pingtung City, Pingtung County, at around 3 am on May 16, the central news agency reported. Police initial investigation, the two sides suspected of 200,000 Taiwan dollars (about 47,900 yuan) debt dispute, failed to negotiate a conflict, resulting in a gunshot death. The police have a suspect in their sights and are looking for him.

According to the report, Huang Feiwen, deputy director of the Pingtung County Police Pingdong branch, told the media on the 16th that at around 3 am today, he was informed of a shooting incident on the second floor of a bar in Pingtung City, the victim was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Preliminary investigation, the two sides suspected a dispute over T $200,000 debt, because negotiations failed to lead to conflict, and then the shooting incident.

Pingtung County Police said a task force had been formed to investigate and, after reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses, had identified a man as a major suspect and was pursuing him vigorously. The forensic team has also been informed to conduct on-site investigation and continue to clarify the case.
