Apple iOS 18.5: bringing satellite functionality to the iPhone 13 series
On May 13th, CNET reported that Apple had released the iOS 18.5 update, bringing a number of useful features to users to further improve the user experience.
Among other things, Apple has tweaked the email app to include the ability to show or hide contact photos, which can be turned off from within the app to simplify the inbox interface. In addition, iOS 18.5 has improved the category feature. When a user swipes left in the category bar, the“All Mail” category will be selected, and clicking on the other categories will uncheck it, making email management easier.
Notably, iOS 18.5 brings satellite functionality to the iPhone 13 series, allowing users to text their location even when they’re out of range. For now, the feature is only available to T-Mobile users and is in Beta, but will be available for specific packages in July.
The update also introduces the option to tap the back to display a banner. Users can enable this feature in their settings, and when they double-or triple-click the back of the iPhone, a banner will appear at the top of the screen, enhance the intuitive and convenient operation.
