The coalition and the SPD have reached an agreement to form a government

Local time on the evening of April 8, the German coalition party and the Social Democratic Party cabinet agreement reached an agreement.

The cdu-csu Coalition Party won the Bundestag elections on February 23rd. On March 8th the Union Party held exploratory talks with the Social Democrats (SPD) , the first steps have been taken to form a“Black-red” government.

On March 13, the Coalition Party and the Social Democratic Party officially began cabinet negotiations, the two parties were divided into 16 working groups to negotiate on internal and foreign policies and the distribution of ministerial posts. Merz, the coalition leader, had previously said he hoped a new government would be formed by mid-april.
