China’s Hong Kong won the men’s and women’s Silver Sword Cup at the close of the Hong Kong international rugby sevens
The 3-day Hong Kong rugby sevens concluded Sunday night at the Main Stadium of Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong. Hong Kong, China won the Silver Sword Cup for men and women.

“Sevens” is the World Sevens annual series of events, divided into core and invitational games in two parts. Raqm Khamsah?Al Ma?a??ah(Number Five Station) is the centrepiece of the World Rugby Sevens Series, with 12 Men’s and 12 women’s teams competing, while the“Silver Sword Cup” invitational tournament features 3 men’s and 3 women’s teams from Asia, in the men’s group, the Chinese team, the Japanese team and the Hong Kong Chinese team; in the women’s group, the Hong Kong Chinese team, the Kazakh team and the Thai team.

In the men’s group final of the“Silver Sword Cup” held on the same day, the men’s team of Hong Kong, China faced the men’s team of China. The men’s team of Hong Kong, China won the championship 38-5. In the women’s group final, china and Hong Kong won the Women’s Championship by beating Kazakhstan 45-5. Argentina and New Zealand won the men’s and women’s“Seven olives” core competition respectively.

This is the first time that“Qilan” will be held in Kai Tak Sports Park from the Hong Kong Stadium. It is also the first international competition since the opening of the main stadium in Kai Tak Sports Park. The match on the 3rd attracted more than 110,000 spectators.

On the day of the final, a Cathay Pacific airliner flew low over Victoria Harbour and over the main stadium of Kai Tak Sports Park to mark the 100th anniversary of the opening of the old Kai Tak Airport.
