Regarding the American auto tariffs, Japanese Jiji Press reported earlier that Chief Cabinet Secretary Lin Fangzheng said on March 27 that the Japanese government was“Extremely sorry” about the measure. Ishiba Shigeru 27, said the Japanese government has again asked the United States to exclude Japan from the list of tariffs. He said, “Japan has invested in the United States, it has created jobs, it has paid the highest wages [ to American workers ] , and it has repeatedly said to the United States, ‘are we really going to impose the same level [ of tariffs ] on all countries? ‘” Ishiba said the government was“Looking at all options”, but added that“You have to think about what measures are in the best interest of the Japanese nation”. The Jiji Press said, ishiba Shigeru showed caution.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday at the White House imposing a 25% tariff on all imported cars and key auto parts. He also said the auto tariffs would be permanent. This is following the United States on global steel and aluminum products and other measures after the“Tariff war” another major escalation. Compared with previous steel and aluminium tariffs, the auto tariffs are seen as having a“Fatal impact” on the economies of us neighbours Canada and Mexico, as well as allies such as the EU, Japan and South Korea. Many countries reacted swiftly and strongly.
