On March 25 and 26, Kim Jong-un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the State Council, directed the defense scientific research work of the unmanned aerial technology consortium and the detection electronic warfare research team.
Kim Jong-un learned about the various drones being developed and manufactured by UATA’s research institutes and companies, and watched performance tests.
Kim Jong-un also learned about the capabilities and future plans of newly developed reconnaissance and intelligence-gathering methods and electronic countermeasures attack systems developed by the detection electronic warfare research group.
Kim Jong-un said the equipment would be used to improve the North Korean military’s intelligence-gathering capabilities and weaken the enemy’s means of combat.
