Li Hongzhang resigned as chief executive of the National Defense Security Research Institute for health reasons after rumors that he had verbally abused colleagues and abused female employees at the institute, the Associated Press reported, and has passed to female colleagues, “Miss You” and other information, causing controversy.

Taiwan’s defense ministry said it has asked the institute to verify the case according to regulations and take appropriate measures.

Li Hongzhang has abruptly resigned for“Health reasons”, but there are rumours that he is too close to his female colleagues, the China Review News Agency reported yesterday. On the 6th, he was exposed by the media sent to female colleagues harassment message, directly say“I miss you” and other ambiguous terms. Li Hongzhang’s wife, Chen Deyu, a former journalist, said she was“Very angry and has already been punished by her family”. She also said she had been“Undisciplined” and had“Wasted social resources”. She said she was“Sorry to all the girls in the world”. But on the morning of the 7th, Li’s wife Chen Deyu said the incident was just“Practising Xiaohua”(meaning nonsense, nonsense) , and seemed to defend Li Hongzhang.

Kuomintang (KMT) public opinion representative Wang Hongwei said in an interview on the 7th that because Li Hongzhang is an officer, this is a top-down relationship, which fully complies with the regulations on sexual harassment. Wang Hongwei said that sexual harassment cases were frequent a few years ago, and people hoped that there would be no more cases of sexual harassment in the workplace. However, the Democratic Progressive Party has forgotten the pain after getting over the scar, and the whole party has become a“Sexual harassment party.” How many other similar problems are there in the entire Democratic Progressive Party? She said that Taiwan’s administrative agencies and defense departments should thoroughly investigate this matter.
