Taiwan’s central news agency earlier reported that illegal people were adding etomidate to e-cigarette cartridges, commonly known as“Zombie cartridges,” to sell them to the island’s young population. Reported that etomidate is an ultra-short-acting intravenous anesthetic drugs, commonly used in surgery anesthesia, professional doctors need to control the dose, to achieve sedative effect. In November, the 2024 agency issued a public notice to reclassify etomidate as a class 2 drug.
