According to a CNN report, on January 19, local time, US president-elect Donald Trump appointed presidential aide Stephen Miller to provide a list to congressional Republicans, revealed some details of an executive order Donald Trump is expected to issue early in his second term, including action on immigration, energy and government structures, donald Trump is also expected to take a series of actions to reverse the executive order of President Biden. The expected executive orders could face an immediate legal challenge, the report said.
The executive order on immigration will essentially restore all the enforcement priorities put in place at the end of Donald Trump’s first term, the report said, these include the declaration of a national emergency, the imposition of a travel ban and the process of formally re-establishing the migrant protection agreement, which in the past has included the controversial Article 42, and the designation of Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
At the government level, the executive orders expected to be announced will include giving Donald Trump the power to fire non-partisan federal employees on a large scale, ending the remote working of federal employees, formally establishing the department of efficiency, or Doge, the report said, and the order associated with diversity, fairness and inclusion (Dei) .
The report also said that, the remaining executive orders will focus on pipeline construction, offshore drilling, Alaska’s national Arctic Wildlife Refuge, lifting the liquefied natural gas ban, withdrawing again from the Paris climate agreement, creating a National Energy Commission and declaring a national energy emergency.
