On November 11, a Spirit Airlines flight from Florida to the Toussaint Louverture International Airport of port-au-prince was shot, was forced to divert to the Dominican Republic. The source said the plane has landed safely, at least one person was grazed by bullets, the injured was a flight attendant.
The plane was shot several times as it approached the runway and several bullet holes were found in the fuselage. The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the shooting.
After the incident, all commercial flights were grounded at the port-au-prince Toussaint Louverture International Airport. American Airlines and jetblue announced a 14-day suspension of all flights to Haiti.
