The General Assembly overwhelmingly passed a resolution calling on the United States to end the economic embargo and sanctions against Cuba

On October 30, local time, the 79th General Assembly voted on draft resolution A/79/L. 6 after concluding its general debate on the necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States against Cuba, the result was 187 votes for, 2 against and 1 abstention, with the United States and Israel voting against.

After the vote, the general assembly hall burst into warm applause.

This is the 32nd consecutive resolution adopted by the General Assembly.
