The EU has decided to impose final anti-subsidy duties on Chinese electric cars for five years

The European Commission announced on October 29 that it had concluded its anti-subsidy investigation and decided to impose final anti-subsidy duties on electric vehicles (Bev) imported from China for a period of five years.

The decision is expected to be announced in the”Official Gazette of the European Union” on the 30th local time, anti-subsidy duties will be formally implemented from the 31st.

The Chinese export producers sampled will be subject to the following countervailing duties:

BYD: 17.0%

Geely: 18.8%

SAIC: 35.3%

Other partners will be subject to a 20.7% tariff. Tesla would be subject to a 7.8 per cent tariff on individual requests for review. All other uncooperative companies will be subject to a 35.3% tariff.

The 2024 on July 4th imposed temporary tariffs on Chinese imports of electric cars will not be imposed.
