The BBC reported that German maritime surveillance aircraft will also regularly take off from the Royal Scottish Air Force Base on a North Atlantic patrol mission. According to the times, British government sources said it would be the first time in 25 years that German aircraft were deployed in the UK. This cooperation is mainly to assist in the search for Russian submarines and enhance NATO security. For this, “We will work more closely together,” said Pistorius, the German defence minister. According to a report by Politico on the 23rd, the agreement will complete the triangular defense agreement among the three major European military countries, these include the Lancaster House Agreement signed by Britain and France in 2010 and the Treaty of Aachen signed by France and Germany in 2019.
