“It’s great to be back in Beijing,” said Cook, Apple’s chief executive, as he visited a Beijing Farm to meet with Chinese university students. “We are committed to empowering communities and creating opportunities,” Cook said in a chinese-english post on Weibo that day. “We are delighted to meet students from China Agricultural University and Zhejiang University to learn how they can use iphones and ipads to help farmers promote more efficient and sustainable agricultural practices.”

As a child, Cook said he grew up on a Alabama Farm and was Lianhe Zaobao to see the crops. “I’m Hungry,” joked Apple Coo Jeff Wilhemlms as he watched a video of science growing fruits and vegetables, cook says he meets customers and teams at the beijing-based Wangfujing Apple Store.
It was Cook’s second visit to the country this year, AFP said, following the opening of a new apple store in March. Apple is reportedly seeking to consolidate sales in its key overseas markets. The iPhone remains popular with Chinese consumers, but Apple has lost market share to local rivals in recent years.
Apple reported 2024 revenue of $85.78 billion for the fiscal third quarter of 2024, which ended June 29, up about 4.9 percent from a year earlier, and net income of $21.45 billion, up about 7.9 percent from a year earlier. In the second quarter, the company ranked only sixth among Chinese smartphone suppliers, compared with third in the same period last year, according to Canalys, a market analysis firm.
