Chicago statue of Lincoln painted red: graffiti at the scene, police say it was night

The New York Post reported that on October 14, local time, a Chicago landmark statue of Lincoln was sprayed with red paint and left a lot of graffiti at the scene.

The statue is located at the Chicago Museum of History near Lincoln Park in Chicago. Vandals graffiti the statue and write the word“Executioner”. Police said the incident is suspected to be night-time crime, is currently under investigation.

Reported that this is not the first time the statue of Lincoln was damaged. In October 2022, a group of vandals also splashed paint on the statue to draw attention to Aboriginal day.
