On August 18, the HKSAR Government announced that the mainland Olympic athletes delegation to the Paris Olympic Games would visit Hong Kong from August 29 to 31 and take part in variety shows and sports demonstration activities.
According to the briefing, upon arrival, the delegation will attend a welcome reception and a dinner hosted by the HKSAR Government. They will also visit the Hong Kong Sports Institute to exchange views with Hong Kong athletes. In addition, members of the delegation will attend three public events, including the“Olympic Athletes Parade” at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on the evening of the 30th, and two demonstrations of “Mainland Olympic athletes showcase their sportsmanship” at Queen Elizabeth Stadium and the Victoria Park Swimming Pool on the 31st.
Tickets for all three events will go on sale on August 22, and the Hong Kong government will arrange television broadcasts.
The Leisure and cultural services department (LCSD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government replied that there is no identity restriction on the purchase of event tickets, which can be purchased by both local residents and visitors, tickets are sold in the form of real-name registration, and the ticket holder must produce an identity document with the same name as shown on the ticket and a photograph for verification of identity, no unauthorized alteration of ticket data or transfer of tickets for use by others is allowed.
Tickets priced at HK $20 each will be available online, via mobile application or credit card telephone booking at urbtix from 10am on the 22nd. No discount tickets will be offered, the report said, each person is limited to two tickets at a time. The Leisure and cultural services department (LCSD) reminded that there will be no ticket collection service on the event day. Successful ticket buyers must collect their tickets at urbtix outlets or locations with self-service ticket dispensers 30 days in advance (including 30 days) .
