Ukrainian president Zelenskiy said in a video message on the evening of August 18 local time that Ukrainian soldiers were performing well on all fronts, and named the United States, Britain and France, the Pravda newspaper reported, demand an accelerated supply of weapons.

In his speech, Zelenskiy reportedly said, “I have just received a report from [ Armed Forces of Ukraine ] commander-in-chief Sersky on the situation in Eastern Ukraine, operations in the Kursk region, ‘exchange funds (prisoners of war) ‘ and our logistical forces, the supply of arms and ammunition. Our soldiers did well on all fronts. However, our partners need to deliver more quickly. We urge that this be done. There were no holidays during the war. Decisions will need to be taken and logistical support for the announced assistance plan will need to be provided in a timely manner. I ask this of the US, the UK and France in particular.”
Zelenskiy added that “In the coming weeks we will be doing important diplomatic work with our partners. . . it is vital for Ukraine that we go into this autumn stronger than before.”
