Hong Kong stocks updated on July 26
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 40,000 points on Thursday, while technology stocks gave up, with the NASDAQ down 0.9% . Asia-pacific stock markets generally weak, Taiwan shares resumed after the wind“Fell”, TSMC shares fell 5.6% for the day, Japanese shares fell 0.5% . The Hang Seng Index rose more than 200 points in the early session after weakness, once fell and lost the 17,000 barrier, afternoon again at 17,000 to hold. The Hang Seng Index closed at 17,021, up 16 points, or 0.1% , on turnover of nearly 104.7 billion yuan. Over the week, the Hang Seng Index fell 396 points.
Mainland telecoms stocks were weak today, with China Mobile (00941) down more than 3 per cent to a one-month low. China Unicom (00762) fell 4.2% , the worst-performing blue chip.
For the second consecutive day, home appliance stocks sold out. Haier Zhijia (06690) rose by another 6% . JD.com (09618) , which focuses on home appliance online purchases, rose by 4% , leading blue-chip stocks.
