The US military in Japan announced Monday that it plans to deploy F-35C fighter jets to the Iwakuni base in western Japan as part of the carrier’s deployment, the first time a carrier-based version of the F-35 has been deployed in the country. After the completion of the program, the U. S. military in Japan will gather A, B, C three models of F-35. The USS Reagan, which has been based in Japan since 2015, is on its way back to the United States, where it will be replaced by the USS Washington.
