Hong Kong media: Hong Kong Oriental men’s basketball negotiations to participate in the PBA final goal is still to become a CBA league

According to the South China Morning Post, the Hong Kong Oriental Dragon and Lion Basketball Club of China hopes to become a member of the CBA League.

The newspaper said Hong Kong’s Orient men’s basketball team is in talks to play in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup from November until early March next year, they hope to eventually take their place in China’s top basketball league.

Officials at Hong Kong’s Orient men’s basketball team said the matter was still at an“Early” stage, but initial feedback from Thursday’s talks with basketball authorities in Manila and the Philippines was positive.

“We want to play in the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association League) and the East Asian Super League (EASL) , and our ultimate goal is still to play in the CBA League,” said the Hong Kong basketball official. We believe it is a good idea to continue to seek exposure and play at the highest possible level of basketball while we wait for progress in mainland China.”
