From today (October) , non-chinese permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao can apply for permits to travel to and from the mainland.

To further facilitate the movement of Hong Kong and Macao permanent residents to and from the mainland, non-chinese permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao may apply for Home Return Permit on a voluntary basis from July 10.

The holder may travel to and from the mainland several times during the 5-year validity period of the document.

Each stay shall not exceed 90 days.

After performing formalities such as fingerprint collection at the port, the holder may pass through the express channel.
