According to the China manned space engineering office, the selection of the first batch of foreign astronauts for the Shenzhou program will be completed in early April 2026, two Pakistani candidates, Muhammad Zeeshan Ali and Khurram Daud, were selected. Recently, they will come to China to participate in training as reserve astronauts. After completing various trainings and passing the assessment, one of them will participate in the flight mission as a payload expert, to become the first foreign astronaut to enter China’s space station.<\/p>\n

In February 2025 China and Pakistan signed the cooperation agreement on selection and training of Pakistani astronauts and participation in missions to the Chinese space station in Islamabad, and immediately launched the selection process of Pakistani astronauts. After primary selection, re-selection, selection of three stages of strict screening and evaluation, the final selection of 2 Pakistani reserve astronauts.<\/p>\n
