Citigroup urged employees to \u201ckeep their cool\u201d as anti-Israel protesters blockaded the Wall Street giant\u2019s New York headquarters.<\/p>\n

Video obtained by the Post shows pro-Palestinian protesters blocking the entrance to Citi\u2019s offices in lower Manhattan, waving signs and chanting slogans including \u201cFrom the river to the sea, Palestine will be free\u201d and \u201cFrom the sea to the river, Palestine will live forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a shift versus earlier demonstrations over the past three weeks, during which climate activists\u00a0dressed in orca costumes<\/a>\u00a0had gathered outside Citi\u2019s offices chanting \u201csink their yachts,\u201d sparking\u00a0scuffles in the plaza<\/a>\u00a0and numerous arrests.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know many of you have been offended by some of the language and actions, as have I, but we have to keep our cool,\u201d\u00a0Ed Skyler, Citigroup\u2019s head of enterprise services and public affairs, said in an internal memo this week that was obtained by the Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe respect the right to protest, but not at the expense of our colleagues\u2019 safety nor when others perpetuate abuse or hatred,\u201d Skyler said. \u201cSimply put, we do not tolerate acts of intimidation and violence, and we denounce antisemitism, Islamophobia, acts of hatred, discrimination and prejudice of any kind.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
