Local officials said that no leakage of dangerous chemicals had been discovered yet, and no people were injured or killed in the accident.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8018\" title=\"a46b8c0476495c954871d19da28d630fu5\" src=\"http:\/\/forefrontnews.cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/a46b8c0476495c954871d19da28d630fu5.jpg\" alt=\"a46b8c0476495c954871d19da28d630fu5\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1438\" \/><br \/>\nIC photo<\/p>\n<p>John Roach, head of the Mansfield Fire Department, said the train had six cars derailed, four of which slid into the river. The derailed cars were loaded with liquefied propane.<\/p>\n<p>After the accident, the town government of Mansfield issued an immediate evacuation order to residents within a radius of about 800 meters from the accident site, urging residents to stay indoors, on the grounds that liquid propane is odorless and cannot be immediately detected by smell. The surrounding roads were closed.<\/p>\n<p>The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said that state and local hazardous goods handling teams are closely monitoring possible leaks and placing hazardous goods fences in the water as preventive measures.
