Los Angeles Fire Department said the 31 people are tunnel workers, all have no obvious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The fire department is still verifying the number of people trapped, there are no reports of missing persons.<\/p>\n<p>Wilmington area of Los Angeles 9 occurred in a tunnel collapse accident, resulting in several people were trapped. Rescuers said the collapse point from the only entrance to the tunnel about 9.66 km.<\/p>\n<p>The tunnel is part of the $630.5 million Los Angeles sewage tunnel project. According to the general contractor&#8217;s website, the tunnel is 11.27 km long, 5.5 m wide and 137m deep. It is scheduled for 2027 completion.
