The new missile defense system is designed to threaten the strategic security of the nuclear-armed countries that the United States is hostile to, and to make the use of offensive military force more smoothly.

“Turning outer space into a potential nuclear battleground.”

The memo said: “We are trying to justify our hegemonic space expansion and accelerate the militarisation of space under the guise of ‘home defence’ , so as to give priority to military superiority in all areas of defence and, on this basis, launch military attacks against hostile countries at will. This is the strategic military objective pursued by the United States and is the main objective of the Golden Dome program, which is the top priority of the current administration.”

The Golden Dome missile defense system concept proposes targets to protect the continent from ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missile attacks by strategic adversaries, the memo said, it is a nuclear war scenario in space that prioritizes the construction of military infrastructure in space bases to support the United States’ single-stage dominant strategy, rather than“Preparedness measures” to deal with“Threats.”.

“The creation of a new U.S. missile defense system will not only stimulate the security concerns of nuclear-armed states, trigger a global nuclear and space arms race, but also be the bane of the transformation of outer space into a potential nuclear battlefield,” the memo stressed

The memo says the global security environment is becoming more uncertain because of the more blatant militarization of space by the United States.

“Golden dome” caused continued questions and concerns

Donald Trump announced the development plan for the space-based missile defense system, known as “Golden Dome,” at the White House on Tuesday, saying the system plans to be “Fully operational” within three years.

Donald Trump said the dome would be integrated with existing US missile defence capabilities and, once fully built, would be capable of intercepting missiles launched from the rest of the world or even from space, at a cost of about $175bn. He said he hoped to finish the project before the end of his term.

The concept of space-based missile defense, which is based in orbit around the world, was first proposed during the Cold War and was developed as part of Reagan’s “Star Wars” program. Although the Star Wars programme had long since been abandoned for technical reasons, Donald Trump signed an executive order calling for the construction of an “Iron Dome” defence system a week after taking office in January. The U. S. Defense Department in February renamed the system“Golden Dome”, some media called it“Star Wars 2.0” program.

At the heart of the plan is the creation of a constellation of thousands of small satellites, mainly missile detection satellites, which locate missiles and vehicles, and missile destruction satellites, the latter is responsible for intercepting and destroying the missiles.

“Golden Dome” plan by many media and experts questioned. They point out that the system faces serious challenges in terms of both technology development and funding, and that the timetable set by Donald Trump further makes implementation difficult.

Wes Rambo, a missile defense program researcher at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said cooperation and resource sharing may be difficult and arrangements remain unclear. How will the Missile Defense Agency, the Space Force, the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other agencies jointly manage the dome? That remains to be seen.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates the system will take 20 years and cost more than $500 billion to develop. Tomas Withington, Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies Research Associate, said that even for the US defence budget, it was an “Extremely expensive” project that would cost “Very, very much”, “I don’t hold out much hope that we will one day witness this technology,” he said.

In addition, many parties are concerned that the“Golden dome” plan openly proposes to significantly increase the means of warfare in outer space, which will aggravate the risk of space battlefield and arms race. If the United States builds such a strong defense system, it could spur its adversaries to further strengthen their offensive capabilities and trigger a global arms race, the independent reported on its website.

The missile defense system planned by the United States is a typical product of“The United States first,” the KCNA reported Tuesday, citing a memo issued by the U.S. Institute of…

[268,260
2469,284,2408,2468
