The package includes restrictions on shipping high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips needed in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) to China and new export restrictions on chip-making equipment made in countries such as Singapore and Malaysia.<br \/>\nThe Chinese companies facing the new restrictions include about 20 semiconductor companies, two investment companies and more than 100 chip tool makers, the sources said.<br \/>\nAmong the companies cited by the sources were chip equipment makers Naura Technology Group, Piotech and SICARRIER Technology.<br \/>\nThe new rules will also allow the US to regulate any goods shipped from overseas to China if they contain US chips.<br \/>\nIn early October 2022, the United States banned 28 Chinese technology companies from using semiconductor chips made with American technology worldwide.
