General Secretary and State Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Jong-un attended the opening ceremony of the \u201cDefense development-2024\u201d arms exhibition in Pyongyang, North Korea, Sunday.<\/p>\n

Kim Jong-un said the north had made important gains in defence development by responding to the US and its allies’ \u201cVicious\u201d confrontation with more than the highest level of 2024 with a \u201cStrong-on-strong, head-on\u201d posture.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Kim Jong-un stressed that the Korean peninsula had never faced such a dangerous and sharp confrontation and was on the verge of a destructive nuclear war. But today’s extreme situation on the Korean peninsula is not the result of a misunderstanding of an adversary. The DPRK has done its utmost in the negotiations with the United States, and it is certain that the United States holds a strong position and an unswerving policy of aggression and hostility towards the DPRK. As long as the forces that infringe upon the sovereignty of the DPRK exist, they must continue to promote the upgrading and sophistication of all kinds of weapons and equipment and eliminate the military threat to the country and people of the DPRK, in accordance with the requirements of the security environment of the DPRK.
