ABC News has obtained an intelligence assessment from the US Capitol Police, which warns that the 2024 of the US presidential election, the threat of violence against government officials and election-related sites will intensify.<\/p>\n

The report, released earlier this month, describes\u201cThe potential for violence and civil unrest\u201d during the 2025 voter certification process and the inauguration of a new president, ABC said. Escalating comments on social media\u201cMay indicate that an environment conducive to political violence is emerging after the US presidential election\u201d, the report said.<\/p>\n

ABC said congressional police are expecting demonstrations against the election certification process, as well as protests related to Israel’s ongoing war, the groups\u201cWill almost certainly target the [ presidential ] inauguration\u201d.<\/p>\n

In addition, the report cited the report as warning that some threats\u201cRemain unknown\u201d, particularly threats of violence from\u201cIndividual actors\u201d.<\/p>\n

In accordance with established procedures, the house and Senate of the United States Congress will convene a joint meeting on 6 January 2025 to formally count the electoral votes, certify the Electoral College results and announce the official results of the presidential election. The inauguration of the new president will take place on 20 January 2025.<\/p>\n

According to the Associated Press, National Guard of the United States officials said Nov. 4 local time that more than 20 states have said, they are willing to send National Guard of the United States to Washington, DC, if asked in the weeks following the presidential election and in the run-up to a new president’s inauguration.<\/p>\n
